World Heart Day is an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading cause of death worldwide. CVD encompasses conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels, including heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure, which claim over 20.5 million lives each year. Factors such as genetics, lifestyle, gender, and geography all contribute to this number. However, many of these deaths are preventable. By increasing awareness and encouraging individuals to make small lifestyle changes, we can significantly reduce the CVD mortality rate.
