Fairtrade Fortnight is an annual event promoting and celebrating the principles of Fairtrade. This year falling on 9th – 22nd September. This campaign aims to encourage individuals, communities and businesses to make conscious choices that benefit producers in developing countries. This year is extra special as it is the Fairtrade Foundation’s 30th birthday.
What is Fairtrade?
Fairtrade is an international movement that partners with farmers and workers in developing countries to improve standards of living, invest in their communities and protect the environment by ensuring fair production practices and trades.
Make a swap – this Fairtrade fortnight, try and look out for some ethical swaps you can make. Bananas, coffee, chocolate, and sugar are a good place to start.
